Board breaking (3): One with a jumping snap kick or jumping roundhouse kick; One with either a knife hand strike or a punch; Onc choice of a foot or hand technique on the non-dominant side.
Board breaking (3): One foot technique with at least two boards; One hand technique with at least two boards; One speed-break technique with a hand strike.
Breaking (4): One with a back hook kick; One jumping kick technique; One hand technique with at least two boards; Once choice of a foot or hand technique on the non-dominant side.
Minimum of thirty classes.
Physical Fitness (m/f): Push Ups 35/28 or Sit Ups 40/30.
Terminology: from Green Striped up through Blue Striped Belt.
Breaking (4): One with a jumping back kick (one board) or a back kick (two boards); One hand technique with at least two boards; One foot technique with at least two boards; One technique of choice (two boards).
Minimum of thirty classes.
Physical Fitness (m/f): Push Ups 40/32 or Sit Ups 45/35.
Terminology: Up through Red Belt. (Specific terms will be provided when you take your exam).
Breaking (5): One back or back hook kick; One foot technique with at least two boards; One hand technique with at least two boards; One jumping technique; One technique of choice on the non-dominant side.
Writing: A one to four page paper on a topic related to Tae Kwon Do training. Specific topics will be provided for your test.
Minimum of thirty classes since last exam, AND thirty-six (36) months of Taekwondo training since White Belt.
Physical Fitness (m/f): Push Ups 45/36 or Sit Ups 50/40; All the way down on one leg stretch (both sides); Split stretches (front and two sides); Continuous round house kicks, bouncing style, 75 each leg (150 total); Rising kicks: 25 yrs. and younger: heels clear the top of the head, 26-35 yrs. old: toes clear the top of the head, 36 yrs. and over: at instructor’s discretion.

EMA has done a wonderful job adjusting to the new norm offering many options for exercise, training, and feedback. Two people in our household are enrolled at EMA, one 7 year old and one adult. We take advantage of taking classes in the private FB group and live semi-private classes at our convenience. The options, opportunities, and feedback for tip check are great. People learn in different ways, at different paces, and the varied platforms for training are tailored for all types. Master Jon's detailed feedback for training and tip check in both email and live were very helpful and makes us confident that tips and belts were earned and not just "handed out". We have friends who take at other TKD school and they offered online training, but zero options for advancement. Our extended family has always been loyal to EMA and EMA has made it possible for everyone to stay fit, continue to learn TKD, and advance, all students have to do is show up.
